Amazing 😍 ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich, expecting some thin patties of fried chicken smothered in sauce, but what I got was a delish grilled chicken with light sauce/salsa, pesto, melted cheese, lettuce and pickles. Kiddo got a mac and cheese with an amazing cheese sauce and perfect garlic bread. Food was so much better than expected, with a great atmosphere and service... and at the same price as the downtrodden pub across the street. Would definitely come again, and recommend to anyone visiting Dundee.

First time visiting and I was really impressed. The staff were lovely and the service was great from start to finish. The food was excellent. I started with the haggis bon bons, which came with a very unusual Irn-Bru sauce - strange at first, but it actually worked really well. For my main, I had the steak pie with mashed potato. I would have preferred everything on the same plate rather than in separate dishes, but that’s a minor point because the meal itself was excellent. This was a great find in Dundee!! Food and service was excellent. We were there on a Thursday and they were playing trivia later in the night. Loved that they served local brews on tap. Food pictured is the fish sandwich and steak pie.

First visit to The Barrelman and will definitely be returning! Highly recommend the short rib and steak & ale pie, absolutely delicious. Carefully crafted cocktails, left us searching for the next one on the menu to try. The Cherry Bakewell and Pear Frangipane were my favourites whilst the Smokey Maple Old Fashioned was a firm favourite of my husbands. If you’ve got any room left their Buttermilk Frickles are amazing.
