I fell in love with this cosy pub! My friend showed me the pub one day when we were looking for a nice lunch. I was so impressed with the courgette fritters and the goat cheese salad. The main dish was the special of the day - a beef stew, that was cooked perfectly from the meat, the veg to the delicious mash and gravy. I came back recently with another friend and tried the Chicken Shnitzel while he had a Steak. I had a Sunday roast here on 15th Feb whilst it continued to rain for weeks outside. What a delight to have a warm and cosy (although not warm) traditionally British pub to retire from the weather. Soft pop style of music playing in the background. Although reasonably expensive for pub grub, there is a very generous quantity of high quality meat and veg plus a jug of gravy. There was no issue to us turning up nearly half an early for my booking. Someone even asked customers into their meal whether everything was good. Gratuity about12% added to bill.
