Food expensive for what it is. Food service is very quick once you've placed your order but queued forever to get drinks and place the food order, just one till doing everything , it was so slow, people complaining their coffees were cold before they'd even paid for them and lots of staff standing around doing nothing. Needs sorting out and a better system it never used to be so slow. Atmosphere.. it's just a noisy cafe

The setting for this place is perfect, we visited estly spring on a lovely sunny day and sat outside. You pay at the till for your items and give your table number who then pass your order back to another counter ( in our case coffees and a cake ) hot food is then at a third counter. Anyhow 25mins after placing the order and no drinks arriving I went back to the counter to get a refund. It wasn't a particularly busy, but just a ridiculous service system. Shame as lovely setting.

This is a canteen charging restaurant prices. I paid £8.45 for jacket potato, cheese & beans. Minimal beans. There was a pile of leave on the side with no other accompaniments & no dressing. Edible but not nice. They're charging £15.95 for fish & chips. The gastro pub I'm going to later only charges £16.25 & theirs will be top quality. It's depressing here. Please avoid.

I have visited the Apple Barn Restaurant several times recently, and on every occasion the food has been excellent and the staff outstanding—always friendly, professional, and welcoming. Due to cancer treatment several years ago, I find eating and breathing quite challenging. I spoke with the chef to explain my situation and discuss how I might be accommodated. He was absolutely brilliant, showing genuine compassion and understanding. I cannot speak highly enough of the chef or the waitresses; their care and professionalism made a real difference to my experience.
