A lovely little cosy pub, food was gorgeous and homemade. A lovely atmosphere, special mention to Luke (general manager) was very attentive and ensured everything was spot on. Sunday lunch was a generous portion, all homemade and tasted delicious. We will definitely return.

Server was super attentive, fussed over our dog, brought treats and a bed for him. So I was sold from that. Food arrived, not too soon not too late, and oh my what a marvel it was. Simply the wife said " best roast she had EVER had", for a Yorkshire lass that is a blood statement. We had our wedding reception here 18 years ago and everyone went above and beyond for a remarkable and memorable day. So good to see it has not changed. And please don't change, very few get it as right as the City Gate does.

Im writing on behalf of the Spritz Society within Exeter, City Gate hosted our end of year summer ball and we had an incredible time, the venue is stunning and the team where so lovely and accommodating. They fulfilled our request of 200+ Aperols for welcome drinks with ease and put in extra touches such as personalised menus we didn’t even think of! Jons communication was fast and helpful and made organisation of the event so much easier! We all had such a fabulous time and will definitely be returning!
