Lovely one night stay while visiting Heswall for family occasion. Good sized room with comfortable bed and well-appponted ensuite. Excellent breakfast and so nice to have table service and choice of newspapers first thing in the morning. Would definitely stay again and would aim to have dinner as well next time.

We recently visited the Jug and Bottle in Heswall for Sunday lunch. We made an online reservation as we expected it to be busy and were glad we did as it was indeed quite lively when we arrived, though there was a nice welcoming atmosphere. The gent behind the bar greeted us warmly and before long we were shown to our table by a friendly waitress. We ordered our drinks which arrived promptly and soon placed our food order. Honestly....the best roast dinner we have all ever eaten. We went yesterday to celebrate Mother's Day and were a table of 9. The service was brilliant and the food was absolutely delicious. As a family of 9 everyone said it was the nicest roast dinner they had and we had a few fussy people amongst us. The whole thing was faultless. The price across the menu was so well priced, a lot of other restaurants around the Wirral have at least another £5-6 on top of these meals and children's meal were great too. Beautiful pub - clean and a great environment, it was bustling from early in the evening and into the night which is a really good sign. The staff were wonderful, you weren’t waiting long to be served at the bar either, as they were really efficient. The food was absolutely incredible at reasonable prices - we had the chorizo and focaccia starter and there was so much flavour, the bread was also so fresh and warm.
