Came in today to try Pepe’s for the first time after hearing about it from a colleague.Walked in to no acknowledgment and staff on their phones scrolling on whatever app. Ordered a chicken and rice box meal came up to like £10, whilst I was waiting for my food I noticed one of the workers on the grill picking at their face and eyes. They wiped whatever it was on their clothes and proceeded to carry on making the food, it’s quite unhygienic in a food environment. The food was 3/5 on an overall scale wouldn’t go out of my way to get again chicken was rubbery and rice was just like basic day old

Visited Pepe’s Huddersfield for a dine-in and was really impressed with the food quality. Everything was fresh, well-seasoned and full of flavour — exactly what you want from a good peri-peri place. The chicken was cooked just right and the sides didn’t disappoint either. A solid 4 out of 5 from me and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a tasty meal in Huddersfield. Will be back!”

Shocking. I had two chicken and rice boxes and a whole chicken. One of the chicken and rice boxes had a dead fly inside it. The other had a hair. This is not the first time I’ve found hair in their food. The whole chicken I got was raw. Been a very loyal customer of these guys and spent over £1k in total at their store since opening but will not be returning. EDIT - I have contacted them before this review and they haven’t responded.

Amazing food and even better service! The Chicken XL burger and the pasta meal are both 10/10. The service is incredibly fast, the prices are cheap, and the staff are lovely. Highly recommend if you need a quick, delicious bite!
