I was really excited to visit Nord after seeing an advert on Threads. The website looked impressive, the head chef credentials sounded solid, and “travelled British” sold it. As someone who is both well travelled and British. The good: Lovely venue, though more loud than intimate. Staff were warm and friendly, if a little inexperienced. Wine overpriced (expected), but water was topped up regularly. The bad: The food was genuinely disappointing. After the locally sourced spiel and watching the open kitchen, expectations were high. We tried the Sunday roast, two course menu. The beef tartare was outstanding and the pork belly and apple roast was very good. Served with seasonal vegetables and extra gravy. Service was excellent and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful.
