I’ve visited Tyneside Cinema many times over the years, but me and my wife specifically have a tradition of attending their Halloween All-Nighter usually every October. I love the indie feel and atmosphere of a local cinema that showcases such a diverse range of older and newer movies. I love the retro feel of the seats and that they haven’t gone out of the way to modern it as such like newer cinema chains. I get the feeling of being a kid and visiting the cinema quite frequently. Finally visited this place for the first time last month and have since seen 3 more films here. I love the screens themselves and the layout of the whole place. The popcorn/snack/drinks stall is inside or just immediately outside (depending on which screen you choose) in keeping with an authentic "Old school" feel. Unfortunately on that note I had to knock off one star as I didn't get anything from there as for some reason at the said snack stand they don't accept cash! Highly bizarre and hardly in keeping with the 30s theme of the place at a time when cards didn't even exist. I usually would

Tyneside Cinema is an iconic institution. I organised a surprise event here a few months ago and it was brilliant. We had the Digi Lounge to ourselves - complete with my choice of film, drinks and nibbles - and then a meal downstairs in Bar Cafe. The Events Coordinator was incredibly personable and helpful from the moment I enquired about booking and the staff members looking after us on the day were also top! I would highly recommend arranging an event here or becoming a member and supporting this unique, indie cinema. I can't wait to go back.

The best cinema I’ve ever been to. Hands down. Not only they show mainstream films, but also do limited screenings of films you wouldn’t be able to watch otherwise. Thank you very much for showing “The Furious”. Tyneside is the only cinema that I’ll be going to from now on.
