After hearing so many people rave about The Steam Packet, I finally got round to visiting and can confidently say the hype is very well deserved. We went on a Sunday and the food was excellent from start to finish - some of the best roast potatoes I’ve ever had. The service was warm and friendly, and the whole experience made for a really enjoyable afternoon. I didn’t order a cocktail this time, but having sampled a few from friends at the table, I’ll definitely be going back for those alone. A wonderful meal, great cosy warm atmosphere, and genuinely impressive food. Highly recommend!

We booked the whole restaurant at the Steam Packet for an evening in June to celebrate an anniversary with 17 friends. Jacob and Ellen were super-helpful well in advance about menus and wines and accommodated dietary requirements with ease: their price was very reasonable. The evening was absolutely excellent: we congregated in Victoria and Evie's friendly and well-run bar downstairs, then migrated upstairs at our leisure to a very convivial single long table in the restaurant. Really disappointed with the roast dinner we went in for. £26 for roast beef which came with 3 roast potatoes, 3 baby carrots which were not roasted and watercress garnish. There was no Yorkshire which you'd usually expect with beef? Most places offer as standard with roasts. And no veg other than carrots and a garnish.. that was the bizarre part. There was an optional side for £5 or £6 for greens but if paying £26 for a roast you'd expect an extra vegetable not just 3 small carrots and some watercress as garnish. The service was pleasant, that was probably the highlight. Would not recommend

Fantastic experience dining here during a short trip to Norwich, amazing service and food was out of this world. The staff were friendly and engaging, the open kitchen too made the whole experience very immersive and impressive to see the chefs in action. Varied and interesting menu and great wine selection, look forward to visiting again soon!
