First visited here back in 2007 and it has been a constant ever since, through the days of Barracuda (Smith & Jones), Stonegate and now, to its latest iteration as an independent. Change is a constant. This is a decent, modern pub – large open plan bar and seating areas with a good range of drinks. High and low seating, booths, etc it has it all – I have my preferences, as do we all. Sometimes I achieve them, sometimes I do not. C’est la vie. Such is life. Was having a reasonably enjoyable evening here with old colleagues, then ordered a round of drinks at 10.40 pm. Asked the barman if we had time to drink them, and was told yes, they close at 11pm, but it'll be after that before we have to leave. 3 mins to 11pm, another "server" tells us you need to go now, here's some plastic cups, get out. Concurrently, a group of lads are allowed in to the pub whilst we're being ushered out. Not good hospitality, whatsoever.

This review is purely for the food on the new menu. The service has always been decent for me and the atmosphere is good for live sports or a social. Before Christmas they had a great variety of food at fair prices and a well thought out menu. Echoing another review on the x amount of small plates offer. Along with good value burgers with fresh salads and sauces. All clearly outlined on the menu. Today I had a £13 cheeseburger with portion of cheap fries, served in a roll not brioche bun! No sauce, no seasoning on the burger. Felt like a Rustlers might have been better. I'd have been annoyed

New menu is lacking.(Used to have more variety and deals (3 small plates for x amount!) Service is slow (used to be much faster)Prices have all gone up dramatically(Now tourist hot spot central London prices) but portion sizes have stayed the same or shrunk. (See image of cheese bites -now 7.00 for 4 bites!!) The volume in the speakers is far too loud to be able to have a conversation. Shame, as loved the vineyard before all of these changes.
