If you visit Chinatown, don’t miss this 10-year favourite of mine—Golden Gate Bakery. The moment you walk in, the warm, buttery HK-style bakery aroma hits you. Everything is freshly baked, generously filled and fairly priced. After tasting almost the whole menu, here are my TOP 10 must-buys: scallion pork-floss roll, seaweed pork-floss roll, tuna bun, char siu / pineapple char siu bun (£2.4), sausage-cheese bun (£2.2), Swiss rolls, HK egg tarts (£2.2), wife cakes (£3), old-school cream cake, and mango pomelo sago.

You can find this bakery from the delicious smell on the street! Its a small shop crammed full of pastries. I tried the red bean pancake which was like a flat mochi and red bean bun which was absolutely stuff full of filling. I'll definitely be returning here to try more.

My go to bakery shop in Chinatown for the past few years, offering the fluffiest sponges with cream, with flavours like pandan or chocolate. They offer big cakes too and pastries. I think you have to pay by cash if it's under £10, so don't forget to bring cash if you won't meet that threshold. You can otherwise pay card if it costs more than £10.
