It has a great mix of small independent stalls, shops, and restaurants, with both indoor and outdoor sections selling fashion, gifts, crafts, and more. As you’d expect, Spitalfields Market on a weekday is a much calmer affair than the weekend rush — and all the better for it. Fewer crowds means you can actually take your time, browse properly. If you’ve been put off by the chaos of Borough Market or Camden, this is well worth considering as a more laid-back alternative with just as much variety and quality. I visited Spitalfields Market in London after reading some good Google reviews, and we arrived around 11 am. At that time not all the stalls were open yet, so I would recommend going later in the afternoon if you want to see everything fully open and lively.
