Harriet Alexander★Such a shame, as this has always been a pub we've enjoyed visiting regularly. It's been our go-to place for a casual dinner or drinks with friends and family, which made our recent experience even more disappointing. We were a group of four friends enjoying a quiet dinner and drinks when the manager, Charlotte, approached us and abruptly told us to "finish your drinks and leave" before saying, "you need to leave, get out." When we politely asked why, she simply repeated the same instruction and refused to give any explanation. We were all surprised by how rude and confrontational the interact
John Myerscough★★★★★A busy, buzzy pub. Food selection good, something for everyone. Beer selection reasonable. Very welcoming. Dog friendly although I don't have one myself. Only one drawback is that they don't serve hot drinks but then that's what Waterstone's café is for, isn't it?
DRINK Tasting Room★★★★★The Verulam Arms has always been one of our absolute favourites — we’ve been coming here for years when we are back in the area and it never disappoints. The service and food are consistently excellent, and the craft beer range is one of the best. The staff are always lovely and welcoming, and it’s wonderfully dog friendly — our whippet never wants to leave! It’s a cosy, relaxed neighbourhood pub with real character. Places like this are the heart of the community and deserve to be valued and supported. Long may it continue! Thanks again 🙏
wayne pack★★★★★Absolutely superb! It’s been a long time since we have been made to feel so very welcome when entering a restaurant/pub besides our local. Very warm and relaxed, extremely friendly. Every member of staff should feel proud of themselves and the job they are doing 👍🏻 We popped in not knowing it was steak Thursday and we had the most amazing rib eye, I went so far as to personally thank the chef! Very fair prices considering how well the food was prepared! A great place for a relaxed meal and/or a pint 👍🏻 We will certainly be back and very much look forward to it! Thanks for a lovely evening
