We recently celebrated a special 40th birthday at Ember, and it was hands down an incredible experience from start to finish. The food, presentation, and atmosphere were absolutely stellar. To Start Eat Me Mushroom Arancini: Served with truffle mayo and shaved fresh truffle. They were perfectly crisp on the outside, rich and earthy on the inside. A must-order! We'd heard a lot about the quality of the food at Ember and it's fair to say it didn't disappoint! Excellent. Every dish bursting with flavour in a great setting (seats overlooking the River Wear and the new Keelmans Way bridge) albeit the portion sizes may leave you still feeling like you need something extra (make sure to order some sides).

My first visit to Ember was truly unforgettable. Unfortunately, before we even ordered our food I became very unwell and had to leave the restaurant, which was really disappointing. Went on a Friday night expecting it to by packed but it was quite quiet. We were served quite quickly because of this by very friendly staff. The food came pretty quickly as well and was all beautiful. We will have to come back for a Sunday lunch as this was described as the specialty.
