I visited Number One Thai Restaurant for a friend’s birthday, as she’d had a pleasant experience there previously with her run group. It was a solid experience and exactly what I’d expected. We started with the mixed starter platter; the prawn toast was delicious, as were the peanut, sweet & sour, and chilli sauces. It was a high-quality start, even if I stayed within my comfort zone. For my main, I had the Kang Dang Nua. The beef was perfectly cooked and the flavours were good, though again I played it safe so I wasn't totally blown away. My friend enjoyed her Muta Kai, which was stir-fried

I ordered a red curry pork for dine in and it was perfect. I also ordered fried chicken wings garlic pepper for takeout. I was genuinely surprised with the quality of the fried chicken. That was the driest chicken I’ve ever had in my life, I’m not kidding. Totally not worth the price (£7.95). I had one bite and that’s it. It was bland, lack of flavour and I’m going to say it again, extremely dry, not even a drop of juice.

This place serves very authentic Thai dishes! (Random tip: I've noted across many trips to authentic Thai places that a picture of the former king is usually on the wall, this place is no different). I came alone and ordered half a seabass, tomyum soup and rice. Took away half of the rice as it was a huge portion. Seabass and soup were so good, only downside is I wished it was a bigger portion.

I've lived in Sutton for years, but I had never been here before! Which is odd, because I love Thai food! I went eventually went here one Saturday evening with some friends, and the overall experience was positive! For my starter, I went for the deep-fried calamari for £7.95. They were fantastic! There was a good amount, and they weren't chewy or hard, and the batter was crispy and light! The perfect starter! For my main, I chose the chicken Massaman (£13.95) and coconut rice (£4.95) to go with it...again a lovely dish! The curry was creamy, flavoursome, and went down a treat with the generous
