A brilliant find around the corner from Wakefield cathedral, with delicious bakes and an easy place to linger over well-made coffee. It has a bright, relaxed feel with window seats, warm lighting and a counter full of tempting bites. The staff were friendly and chatty, creating an easy atmosphere rather than a hurried café stop. I had a flat white and a fruit scone, and the scone alone was worth the visit. This café is undoubtedly one of the finest we have visited. The scones are freshly baked and accompanied by fresh cream, setting a high standard from the outset. I opted for a classic bacon sandwich, which was excellent — the bread was thickly cut and the bacon generously portioned. What a lovely independent coffee shop. Lovely friendly staff, who were so cheerful and warm. Coffee was excellent. Cheese and Ham Toastie was superb, generous with the ingredients. Cakes looked amazing. The place was really busy, while the chain coffee shop next door was empty! Spotless toilets! Outside seating too. Right next to the Cathedral.
