Honestly, if you’re in New Malden and haven’t checked out Cuppachai yet, you are seriously missing out. The vibe in there is very vibrant, it’s got this great energy that makes you want to just hang out for hours. Honestly, this visit was disappointing, mostly because of how the matcha was made and how the situation was handled. I ordered a matcha and immediately noticed it was being prepared like a coffee drink. The barista steamed the milk straight at a 90’ degree angle, which isn’t how milk is normally textured and matcha definitely shouldn’t be treated the same way as espresso. The result was a drink with a strange texture and taste that didn’t resemble a proper matcha at all. My daughter and I make a weekly trip to cuppa chai for a few years now. We look forward to it every week. The Chais here are freshly made the, the desserts are delicious. Schooley cakes, milk cakes, Matilda cakes, brownies etc all amazing. I am also a fan of their soft serve vanilla ice cream. Staff are kind, friendly and chatty and go the extra mile to be accommodating. It’s a relaxed friendly atmosphere where everyone is welcome. It’s a wonderful establishment on our high street and worth a visit ! Highly recommend!

The coffee and staff are amazing! It has such a nice vibe and is super cozy especially for studying. The outside area in front is super adorable as well. The prices are cheap as well which is a really good thing for tourists!
