Located on Broadway, in the heart of Astoria, one of New York’s largest Greek communities, Amylos Taverna is redefining Greek traditional cuisine. Amylos celebrates the art, architecture, and food of Greek culture in a way that hasn’t yet been offered. Our setting from our bar/lounge to our dining area evokes feelings of the stylish mainland chic of old Athens.

Ruthy M★★★★★This place is definitely 10/10, from the food to the service. The ambiance is cute for date night. My server Panos was 10/10 and his service was excellent. The food offers many specials on their menu, which my table tried and was satisfied. I had the baby lamb and it was sooo tender. The grilled octopus was grilled to perfection. My sister had the lamb chops, which came with a delicious glaze. My cousins enjoyed the oysters. The fried calamari was fried lightly and is also one of my fav. The lobster Mac & cheese had the perfect balance of flavor. Their drinks were not too sweet or too strong.

I also hoped the server would be a bit more attentive with small details — for example, since we were sharing the chicken dish and already had lemon potatoes as a side, it would’ve been nice if he suggested trying a different side for variety. Little things like that really make a difference in the experience.

Fig Cocktail was so good. And our server Athena from Thessaloniki was a doll. The restaurant has beautiful decor. We will definitely come back here.
