We finally checked out Pittsfield Cafe. I’d heard about it a few times but always forgot, mostly because I'd never just stumble onto this place, it’s tucked inside the building in a way that you kinda have to know it’s there. Total hidden gem. The whole “outdoor seating but indoors” thing is pretty cool. Feels real old-school, like a little golden-era corner that somehow survived. It was packed, but we still got seated right away, and the staff was super welcoming. I ordered the French toast combo. Two sunny-side-up eggs, two big sausage links, and two thick slices of French toast. I thought

This is a unique location for a café that harkens back to the diner vibes of the 80s. No frills, just good old fashioned line-cook food. Very comforting! Also, its inside the Pittsfield Building (blink and you will miss it) that has a cavernous interior and intricate gilding from a by-gone era. Their traditional eggs benedict is exactly like the many I have had in the decades before that’s total comfort food! This is s must try for those looking for a diner style cafe in a one-of-a-kind set up.

Had a great little breakfast here. The food was reasonably priced and very tasty (my BEC on croissant was only $8!) and our server was very kind and attentive. It was not busy at all when we were there and had no trouble getting a table in the atrium, although it was around 10am on a Tuesday. The atrium itself was very peaceful and nice to sit in, especially if you enjoy a historic feel. The bathrooms downstairs were a little unkept, but it wasn't a big deal and I would assume that's the building's responsibility, not the cafe's.

After discovering this gem tucked away in the lobby off Wabash and Washington, we dined here early on a Tuesday morning. My husband enjoyed the house-made corned beef hash- no canned stuff here! (However, quite a few green peppers 🫑 so if you’re like me and don’t like those, you may want to pass on the corned beef or order without). I gobbled down Le croissant, a delicious breakfast sandwich with the most delicious onion jam!
