And then there were only 2 left in the state. Sadly the one by me in Downers Grove has closed, as did the others, with Park Ridge holding on as well. I had planned a pastrami sandwich day, and was bummed when Park Ridge was out. Took the drive north for my fix. It was very lean but still had good flavor and I added a little heat with their Brushfire sauce. Creamy Coleslaw paired nicely and you can help yourself to a pile of pickles. Staff are always helpful and keep the dining room clean.

Here on a work trip! I was walking this whole shopping center and this suite was on my list to inspect for the owners of the center. Once I was done working I decided to come back by this restaurant City Barbecue. All the typical BBQ favorites. Nice flavors, great potato salad. Pulled Pork sandwich was piled high. Best decision I made today to stop in for a late lunch. Management is fantastic. Staff is friendly. Great atmosphere and rustic flare. I highly recommend this location at City Barbecue!

I live in Kansas City (and have lived there most of my life) and I'm a bit of a BBQ afficianado, so I know a thing or two about BBQ joints. As such, this place is not anywhere near my home. It's north of Chicago. Considering the finite capacity of my stomach, I haven't been able to sample much from this place yet. But I have found the pork belly burnt ends to be delicious.
