5 stars for The Block. I absolutely love supporting Black-owned businesses, and this place reminded me exactly why. Sitting in the restaurant watching newly graduated Black students and their families come in celebrating such a major milestone in life was honestly beautiful. The entire atmosphere just screamed Black excellence, success, culture, and community. It felt bigger than just brunch or dinner it felt like a celebration of us. The food definitely lived up to the vibe. The Sweet Chili Wings were cooked to perfection crispy, flavorful, and perfectly caramelized exactly the way I make mine at home, which is rare for me to say. The Strawberry Lemonade was incredible and refreshing, honestly second only to the Chrysanthemum Lemonade I had at Black Dragon. Underwhelmed is my overall rating. The food was subpar and overpriced. Very friendly people working at the restaurant, and the atmosphere was pretty decent. There was not enough chicken on my salad. Don’t let the picture deceive you. For $23 I should have a piece of chicken for every bite. I probably had about 1/2 of the salad left over. The Thai chicken lettuce wraps were tasty, but the lettuce served was warm and wilted. My husband said the breading on his salmon was not crispy, and it lacked seasoning. He also had a side salad. He said the champagne vinaigrette tasted like straight vinegar, so it lacked seasoning as well. We were just a party of two, but they automatically put an 18% gratuity on the check. I think this really ends up hurting the server because even though we weren’t exactly happy with our food, we are always at least 20% tippers because we understand that the food served is not a reflection of the server. Excellent atmosphere with a low noise level good for conversation. The food was amazing. I have the salmon blt and my wife had the short rib tacos. The salmon was flaky and not dry. The short was cooked to perfection. The service from the waitress was great. They do add an 18% gratuity but the service was worth more than that.

We went to The Block for date night and had a nice meal. It was a bit loud when we first arrived, making it hard to hear our conversation, but a group left shortly after and the volume leveled out. The service was incredibly efficient; we were in and out within 45 minutes! I ordered the Cajun shrimp pasta, and I was impressed that it came with plenty of shrimp and chicken. My husband really enjoyed his burger and fries. A solid choice for a quick, quality dinner downtown.

My wife and I had an amazing first experience at this establishment, everyone was so nice and friendly we were greeted right away with a smile and felt very welcomed. The vibe within the restaurant is amazing. Love the music going and atmosphere. Our waitress was very helpful and nice...we literally got our food and drinks within 15 minutes in a beyond packed restaurant. The food was INCREDIBLE! Seasoned and cooked to perfection....the Woodward wings I highly recommend, they were incredible along with the short rib skillet...unreal. If you are in the downtown area this place is a MUST try!

Happy Hour here is very worth it. Strong drinks for a good price. Our server was super sweet and attentive. We ordered the wings, salmon sliders, salmon with broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes and both cheesecakes for dessert. Everything was really good! 😋 definitely will be back soon. Only complaint is that the music was up very loud and everybody seemed to be shouting to talk over it.

My husband and I went for dinner before a concert and we were impressed. The service was good and welcoming. The vibes are upscale neighborhood hangout... perfect for meeting friends after work or a casual but grown up date. And the food? We had the best spinach and artichoke dip we've ever had. 100/10. The drinks were on point, and our entrees were so flavorful. This is a fun spot for a good hang. We will be going back soon to check out brunch. I recommend making reservations - it's a cozy spot that fills up fast. And be aware that they automatically add 18% gratituity to all bills.
