April's coffee date took us up to northern Indiana while we were in town for a Luke Combs concert. This month, we checked out SteelYard Coffee Co.--and I'd definitely call it a hidden gem. It's tucked inside an older industrial-style building and shares space with a couple of antique-type shops, so it's not somewhere you'd likely just stumble upon. The coffee was great, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My wife ordered an iced "Reese in a Cup" and loved it. I went with a hot Cuban Kiss--a mix of cinnamon, vanilla, and white chocolate. What a beautiful coffee shop. From the brick walls covered in leaves outside, to the chandeliers and signs inside, it was stunning. Their menu has a wide variety. Our group loved all of the food and drink (both coffee and no coffee) items that we got! Only complaint is that I watched one of their workers roll her eyes at another customer. I had been here a couple years back and had the same experience with that exact staff member. It definitely didn’t reflect the attitude of the rest of the crew who was very kind and helpful!

Atmospheric hidden gem!!! I got a half turkey Panini with the cherry limeade, A gluten-free lemon blueberry muffin, and some Ethiopian dark roast coffee beans. The staff was so welcoming, hospitable, and helpful, even though I came in right before they closed. Everything is a 10/10!!! I can’t wait to come back with my husband.
