We ordered food for delivery for a large group. And the order was delivered very fast. Nothing was missing and everyone was satisfied with their food. They also gave us a large bag of fortune cookies and sauces. Great food and speedy service.

I’ve been eating here for years. However this last experience of take out shrimp fried rice tasted like left over food warmed up. The appearance was dark in color and the taste was not good. When I called in the man on the phone told me food is cooked on order. Well this one didn’t taste like it and appearance is dried out. Period! End of conversation.

Aesthetics and presentation bait you into this Lunch special L5…Shrimp Egg Foo Young, Gravy, Fried Rice, Egg Roll, and Orange Crush. I really love that the gravy is served separate from the egg foo young. The shrimp are approximately 1.15 inches and tender. Eggs a soft yellow. Rice tender and flavorful with bean sprouts, green onion and egg. Egg roll vegetables tender. Overall, great choice for lunch today. No shortcuts on the lunch special, cannot wait to purchase a dinner. Cashier patient and cordial. My new venue for Chinese dining west of Chinatown Chicago.

On the heels of writing a very negative review, below, based on my last dining experience at Fortune House some months back, I've edited it to reflect today's experience. There are now many Korean and Thai restaurants near my home, but Chinese restaurants have dwindled and tonight I was in the mood for Chinese, so I gave Fortune House one more chance.
