It was my first visit and I was not overly wow’d with this place, but I want to be very clear that nothing was bad. I liked the gritty lady at the bar who took my order. The classic Midwest dry charm was thick. I let her know that I’d never been there before and she was helpful and patient. I also loved the nostalgic midwestern vibe and look of the place. Providing a consistent product to hungry citizens for at least 4 generations. The Zarda family must be doing something right to stand out and thrive for all these years in what must be about the most difficult BBQ market in the country. The princess and I stopped by for lunch yesterday and we were not disappointed. The brisket sandwich was right sized and fairly priced. I like their original sauce . The ribs were ok although a bit dry. Well above average I recommend Zarda as a top contender in Kansas City area.

Very good visit here. Tried a sampler with ham, brisket, sausage, burnt ends, chicken and a rib snack. All very good. Smokey flavor with excellent tender bbq. The sausage is sliced thin and tastes great. Have to get burnt ends in KC and these were great! Try the Thunder Berry and Apple Harvest sauces. Not a fruity fan usually but these sauces were excellent and compliment the bbq flavor well.
