Great spot to have Japanese food in the campus area. Despite ramen being their specialty, I would recommend trying the Meat Lover Bowl which has a variety of meats and seafood in it. Their ramen dishes are solid, on par with the typical ramen you get in the US, nothing special or mindblowing. To add, unless you are absolutely confident, DO NOT attempt the Level 5 Hell Ramen Challenge 😅. We made the mistake of trying it and the 'broth' is basically so much chili oil to the point that it's impossible to swallow without gagging.

Cute cozy atmosphere!! Open kitchen and large window seatings. The staff were so incredibly kind! Very tentative as well. They even offered to take a photo of my friend and I. That was so sweet. The food was absolutely incredible!! We got the tonkotsu ramen and takoyaki. The broth alone was out of this world. 10/10 will be coming back often!! Thank you Strings of Madison!!

We decided, on a whim, to stop into this restaurant and try their Ramen while in Madison. All I can say is the food was fantastic, the atmosphere was comforting and the service was amazing. We had the special - Ramen bowl, dumplings & hot tea for only $20. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Ramen bowls!
