Zippy's was one of my favorite meals while in Oahu. It's an excellent meal for the value. No, it's not fine dining. Yes, it's diner food. But it is absolutely local and can give you a taste of the island. The Zip Pac offers four meats: fried chicken, spam, fried fish, and teriyaki beef, plus rice, chili, and macaroni salad. The meats are all great, expect I found the fish to be average. The chili and macaroni both offer a nostalgic 'diner' taste, and are fun to mix-in with the rest of the food. If you set your expectations right, you'll have an awesome meal.

This is a review from a first timer. I've heard many good things about this local chain, and I was looking forward to trying a few items, especially the famous chili. Some of my family members have been to Zippy's before, and they enjoy coming here when on vacation. We had a big family lunch party, so we ordered a bunch of items. I got to try the Chili Moco, a bowl of chili (with beans), and my main order was the Saimin. After trying the chili with both beans and no beans, I prefer the no-bean chili. Great Hawaii-based restaurant chain, I believe they also have one in Las Vegas. Comfort food with friendly service. All day breakfast, lunch & dinner with very generous portions. My favorites are their French Toast, Hawaiian style Loco Moco, the Korean Fried Chicken Salad and the Orange Bang drink.

Zippy’s is a Hawai’i favorite among locals and visitors. Their menu has all the classic favorites like zip pac and chicken Katsu. The have a dine in area as well as a take out counter. The bakery items are also really good and made fresh. The prices are reasonable and is very clean!
