I was excited to try King's Palace, but it didn't live up to the hype. The smoked ribs were so dry they had me wondering if they'd been smoked last month. The house sauce was delicious and made the fatty parts of the ribs edible, but the rest of the meat was simply inedible. The server did ask how the ribs were, and when I mentioned how dry they were, she politely explained that they were smoked. Everything about this place is enjoyable. We came for lunch and the atmosphere is relaxing and interesting. The service is top notch! Our server was so friendly, funny, and truly gave us a taste of the Southern Hospitality! The fried green tomatoes are excellent and the gumbo is the best I’ve had in a long time. The chicken wings were just like our server told us, 4 great big delicious wings! If you go to Beale street this is a must stop! The food was good, made fresh, and the beer was cold. We will definitely go again the next time we are in Memphis!

Awesome experience. Traveled from. St Louis and was not disappointed. Everything was phenomenal and so was our server she was exceptional. Food reminds me of NOLA. I like gumbo but my family didn’t. But the band was really cool (though a bit too loud, so I had to use some ad hoc ear plugs made from napkins). The server was also very friendly. Last time I was on Beale St it was two decades ago and it was snowing. Today it was pouring… maybe that’s why I haven’t experienced a crowded scene here yet…
