We visited as a party of four during Mother’s Day weekend and graduation season, so the restaurant was extremely busy and packed. We arrived around 8:00 PM and noticed there was no host at the front when we walked in. Another group was also waiting to be seated. We were finally seated around 8:20 PM after waiting about 20 minutes. The host explained that there were several larger parties ahead of us and that there was only one bartender working that evening, which likely contributed to the delays throughout the night. The experience started off rocky. We got up to leave the manager immediately met us at the door and genuinely apologized for the service and inconvenience. She took care of us herself even the kitchen staff came out to talk with us and apologized for the delay in service. Many take customer service for granted but as some one who used to service and enjoy a good customer service son can tip handsomely (bc I know how hard it can be) this meant so much to our entire party. First time at this lovely restaurant. Great customer service and the good was mind blowing. From the presentation to the mouth watering tast. Wow and agin WOW!! Had to park at the Main Hotel garage and work right across the street to the restaurant. It was very convenient $2.00 to park. Clean and inviting, its was a private birthday party upstairs. Stumbled across this place walking in downtown Norfolk. Had a quick lunch of she crab soup and a slice of rum cake. The cake was incredible, somebody's mama put they whole foot in there and wiggled her magical toes. The she crab soup was topped with a mini crab cake, and was so savory and creamy. It had a nice kick to it, just like in the Charley-O The atmosphere was a vibe. Great brunch spot and I am looking forward to my next visit already.
