Had a fabulous first time at Il Gigante. Sat at the bar - shout out to Matthew and Kayla for taking such good care of us. Great ambience, not too loud, but still a fun atmosphere. Food was exceptional. The pasta and all the ingredients were fresh and portion sizes were hefty! Great price for the food and drinks. Just all around fabulous! Cheers!!!

Enjoyed a really spectacular dinner at il Gigante earlier this week. I’d walked past a few times and had been curious to find a solid Italian spot near me in Bushwick, and boy did they deliver. The interior of the restaurant is very cozy and chic, great vibes for a date night. We had the tricolore salad to start, which was delicious and enough for 3 people, along with an embarrassing amount of their house focaccia which is superb. Came on a nice Sunday alone and sat outside. The house spritz was excellent. However, I must have come during a shift change — I got my spritz and an app and then no one ever came back to take my order. When I realized it had been 50 minutes and other people seated after me were getting their food I went inside and flagged someone down. Even after that it took a while to be seen by anyone and at that point I was annoyed and just asked to close out even though I’d come for the clam pasta and was really looking forward to it. 3 stars because I get it stuff happens but man I was annoyed!! A divine dining experience. The friendliest staff. Amazing dishes. Phenomenal wine list. Cozy, warm interior. Baby friendly (they brought us a high chair) and babe loved the meatballs. Do not miss the cotoletta, it’s unreal. We were very excited to find a place with northern Italian dishes — the gramigna alla sasiccia is absolutely incredible! A solid choice to end on the panna cotta. We will be back again and again.
