Nidia and Felipe Melo are two Dominican entrepreneurs who have been serving the Rochester community with their delicious cuisine inspired by the flavors of the Dominican Republic since 2010. Nidia and Felipe started out with a food truck and, seeing the demand for their food in the community, decided to open a restaurant that serves Latin food.

A Marrero★★★★★Excelente! Our first visit and it did not disappoint. It is a nice space overlooking the river. The staff are welcoming and ready to take your order! The drinks were on point! The food was outstanding. The beef rib appetizer was delicious, the steamed red snapper was well seasoned & soo good! The rice, beans, tostones, maduros & ensalada were perfect sides! We ordered pollo frito con hueso as take it for fam at home and they really enjoyed it!!! We had good drinks, good food and a great time! We will definitely go back and bring friends and family! Came here for dinner having reserved ahead of time and we still had to wait 30 for a table. Waited at the bar and had a drink in the meantime, the strawberry margarita on the rocks was ok. Once we were seated the waitress took our order and was very pleasant. The food was good no complaints there.

The verdes came out in a cut lil plate, and then the paella came out in a TUB. SO. MUCH. PAELLA. It was a mountain of mussels and clams and shrimp and lobster. We thought we could eat it all. We were FOOLS. We now have food for the rest of the weekend. Thank you 809, y gracias José por tolerar mi español deficiente!
