We've been going there for years and never had any problems until two weeks ago. They were busy but we were seated right away. We ordered a salad and a sandwich. Forty minutes later, still no food and the place is half empty. We decided to leave and told our waitress. She said there had been some computer issue but you can see her handing the cooks hand written orders. Others who arrived and ordered after us had been served and were halfway finished so that excuse didn't hold up. I love classic pancake houses. And Checkers here in the Schaumburg IL does not disappoint. First time here, and had a classic 2-eggs scrambled, hash browns and bacon. You can get this with toast, couple of pancakes or a crepe. I opted to upgrade to their premium 2-crepes with fresh strawberries. The crepes were superb. Probably a lot for one person, but I finished it all…lol! The place is very clean and shiny. Quiet around 8am on a weekend but people started pouring in close to 9am. The restaurant is in a good location and has plenty of parking. We arrived close to closing time but we were not going to take long so we came in and we were welcomed. We sat and right away we were offered coffee and water. The menu is made of paper and had a coffee stain so i wished they had something more clean. Ordered omelets since it seemed like a good choice. The order came in fast and the food tasted good, not salty and I like that a lot, but a bit greasy. The salsa bottle on the table has salsa around so it was not cleaned and I wished it was. This is my go to breakfast place by far! I have been coming here for years but recently a lot more often and every time it’s great! The customer service is amazing as well as the atmosphere. My go too are definitely the nutella crepes or the country skillet. Their soups and pancakes are also amazing. 10/10 would recommend checkers!
