We had heard good things about The Lexington, but this was our first time….and we’re kicking ourselves for taking this long to try it. The atmosphere was fantastic, a perfect set up honoring their deep history with a classy, throwback feel. Our waiter was one of the best we have had in recent memory, insightful and informative, very efficient and perfect timing. On top of all that, the food was outstanding! The scallops, salmon burger, the pot pie and half chicken were all delicious and the grasshopper pie was a unique and flavorful dessert. We’ll be back soon for a steak! If you are anywhere near St Paul, do better than us and get in there as soon as you can - you’ll be happy you went!

The Lexington is one of the more luxurious places that I have ever eaten at. They have an extensive drink menu and will make others that are not on the menu. We were given a bread basket to start. We had appetizers of onion rings and salads. I learned quite a bit about the Caesar salad after eating here, as I did not enjoy the fishy taste of their dressing. I ordered a 7-ounce Filet Mignon cooked medium. I enjoyed the doneness of the meat, and was glad I did not go for a medium rare as those were cooked with a large amount of pink and red. For sides, we ordered the Yukon Gold Whipped Potatoes, Fire Grilled Asparagus & Bearnaise, Grilled Broccolini, and Truffle Gouda Gnocchi. Surprisingly, I did not enjoy the asparagus due to the smoky flavor. My favorite was the Truffle Gouda Gnocchi. We ended the night with desserts that were fantastic. Classical atmosphere that takes you back in time. Solid menu choices, the chateaubriand was very good. The service is pretty good, it would be nice if the manager would take the time to check in on tables like he used to. (For 5-star service, go to Boccio, Baldamar, Mannys, or Acqua). What is very disappointing is this classy restaurant does NOT offer Espresso. Imagine a big beautiful brass Espresso machine behind the bar! They would sell so much they would pay for it in 6 months! Baldamar, Ruth Chris, Mannys, Pittsburg Blue, Acqua, ....I could go on....ALL offer Espresso. The new chef came from the Oceanaire......they ALSO offer Espresso. It's time for the Lexington to up their game and offer Espresso....they are so close to 5 stars!

The rooftop patio at The Lexington was definitely the highlight, great atmosphere, good music, and delicious milkshakes. Service was friendly and attentive. The duck liver plate was a bit underwhelming; it was more tart and sour than expected, and the thick-cut pickled onions didn't really work for me. The inside of the restaurant also had a noticeable fish and carpet smell. Overall, a good experience and I'd come back for the rooftop and service.

It’s rare for me to be truly impressed, and my experience at The Lexington has left me with wanting more and to keep coming back! My husband and I came for our 1st Anniversary, and we’ve decided coming here every year will be a tradition for us! Why? We felt genuinely welcomed by the host at the entrance, he guided us to our table. Then came our server for the evening, Grace. She made the evening so memorable for us, she paid attention to the smallest details, had the warmest, kindest smile I’ve ever seen. She knew the menu so well. She wished us a happy anniversary multiple times! She checked in on us multiple times through dinner to ensure everything was perfect. She must have notified others of our anniversary because the host came back to wish us a happy anniversary and an employee took a really beautiful photo of us, and printed out a copy! Wow! What a gorgeous piece of history. This restaurant is one of a kind. From start to finish, I want to say we loved the option of valet since St. Paul is so busy with street parking. From parking all the way to leaving, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious. One of the best steak tartares I have had. We were lucky enough to sit in the dining area with the live band, and it was wonderful. Our visit was a 10/10.

Decided to make a trip to The Lexington as an homage to the spooky month of October since it is allegedly haunted. The ambiance of the restaurant is as one would expect if a place that dates back to the 1930s. It's a cozy atmosphere, and perfect for a date night. Our waitress was very polite and gave us her suggestions. She was attentive and we never felt like we were left hanging at any point. Our appetizer was the lobster and cauliflower dip, followed by the Lobster Spaghetti and Whitefish Gorbachev. Both dishes were great, the appetizer was ok. I feel like the lobster that was in the spaghetti was better, sweeter and less "fishy" tasting if that makes sense the fish was refreshing with a nice crust on it. The spaghetti was nice and thick and the lobster was a nice touch to it. I feel like there was a good amount of lobster on the dish as well. Overall, I think the Lexington was nice.
