First of all, the service was excellent! I interacted with multiple staff members and they were all warm, friendly, and professional. Unfortunately, the food did not match the service. I got the vegan shio ramen and it didn’t have much taste at all. Maybe I was setting myself up for failure because most vegetarian ramen broths don’t pack as much flavor as the meat-based ones but this one felt especially disappointing. I had to add a bunch of the chili seasoning to give it some taste. My friend got a meat-based one but said his tasted very average too.

Extremely happy with my ramen experience at Uchiwa, the broth and the chasu pork had an amazing rich flavor and the meat was perfectly cooked and tender. It was exactly what I hope for in a rich Tonkotsu ramen. I will definitely be coming back!

I tried this place today for the first time. It's delicious. I had the Tonokotsu and found it super flavorful. The pork was delicious and fresh. The broth was rich and super flavorful - but not TOO heavy or greasy at all. The service was really friendly and the staff were knowledgeable. I will be back and think this is a lovely gem of a restaurant.

So… my gf and I ordered the Miso, which I have had many times in the past, and both decided to get it spicy. After taking a few bites I had to ask the server (who do a fine job) what they used to make it spicy and he replied pureed toasted habanero peppers. Welp, it made spicy alright but you couldn’t taste ANYTHING else in the dish. There are so many other options to spice up ramen, why use those peppers?? To top it off, for the last 2 days her and I have lived in the bathroom!! We are not novices when it comes to spicy food but that experience should not be shared by anyone. Be warned…
