Very lively place. A spot college kids come in for homework. Place is very efficient when serving. Loved the seasonal drink options. Had a king cake latte, was pretty good. Only thing that was surprising was the price for the size. The 0.5 camera makes the drink looks bigger than it is. The drink made for a nice aesthetic. Found seating the long table on the inside.

I absolutely love frequenting Monarch for a quick coffee on my lunch or a study/writing work. When I first moved to Tuscaloosa from Arkansas, I tried this place out only to discover that they use the same roast as Onyx in Bentonville! I was missing Arkansas, but was excited to have a connection! Genuinely good coffee. Homemade snacks. Classic.

Monarch Espresso serves fantastic espresso, best in the town by far. They source their beans from Onyx, which is easily one of the best roasters in the country, and you can tell their owners have a genuine love for espresso. The drinks themselves are amazing every time. The only area where they could really improve is how they hand out drinks. My partner and I were waiting for our order, and our exact drinks were placed right next to us. No names were called out and nobody else was standing around waiting, so we assumed they were ours.
