​I was really hoping for a solid meal, but Barbecue Hernandez fell pretty short of expectations. ​First off, the name itself is a bit misleading. You see "Barbecue" in the title and expect a true BBQ lineup, but the only thing on the menu even remotely related to barbecue was the grilled chicken. ​As for the food, it was a mixed bag: ​The Grilled Chicken: Flavor-wise, it actually tasted good and had decent seasoning, but texturally, it was as dry as a leather shoe. ​The Barbacoa: It had a really odd, off-putting flavor that just didn't hit the mark for what a good barbacoa should taste like. I ordered four dozen chicken tamales they were good, but not something I’d order again. A few had small bones, and the peppercorns weren’t fully crushed, which affected the texture a bit. The red salsa also had quite a few seeds. I’m still leaving four stars because the overall flavor was good, and I’m likely to return to try other items on the menu. Waiting area is not that big it’s more like a four people space and employees were kind and quick!

So this is definitely a To go spot. The Chicken is amazing. Super fresh! Really affordable too! I had my food within 5 mins of my original order. Don’t sleep on this place!
