In January of 2007, Aaron Sanders and Max Toste opened Deep Ellum. Their goal was “to be the awesomest bar they could be!”, a real neighborhood joint with a focus on old-fashioned hospitality, serving the best beer available, crafting high-quality cocktails, and making the most delicious comfort food ever to come out of such a tiny kitchen.
