Following a recommendation from a local, 3 of us got a last minute table in the laneway outside Serai on a cool friday night. From the moment we arrived we were made welcome. The staff were spot on with their engaged and friendly style. The food is modern Filipino providing some original interpretations like the Pigs head tacos (must have). Celebrated my birthday here at Serai and had high expectations because we’d heard such great things. Thankfully, it did not disappoint. The food was incredible! We went with the tasting menu, and the highlights were definitely the Selat Lumpia and the Kalo Kalo lamb shoulder. Be prepared to leave very full, though. Thanks to the team for the amazing food and great service. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Melbourne.

Visited Melbourne for a week and was utterly sad that we went to Serai on our last full day for dinner. Otherwise, we would have just kept going back for more food every single day! First of all, the wagyu was beautiful. It was just the way my partner and I like it, the perfect medium rare.
