I had wanted to come to The Moat restaurant for ages so I booked my wife and I in for dinner to celebrate a milestone birthday event for my wife. Upon arrival you are greeted by the lovely person serving gelati ice cream which is a great touch. You enter down beneath the side of the State Library Building into an underground area / space that is a buzz with people, talking, drinking and eating delicious Italian inspired food. This place is a hidden gem. The service was warm and attentive, and the food was excellent. The only small improvement would be more frequent drink service. We loved it overall and will definitely be back. The standout dishes were the homemade focaccia, kingfish crudo, and the tiramisu.

Amazing fish, both raw and oven baked, and great hand made pasta. Unlucky that the seafood in the pasta was not fresh and the cherry tomatoes are not good quality. Good restaurant for a date or to bring your parents if they are visiting. Kind of on the pricier side, but most of the ingredients are good.
