We visited this restaurant for lunch with great expectations ..our favourite dish being duck rice/noodles. Whilst service was prompt and seating adequate ..this dish was served with side soup plonked on the mains dish, displacing portion of mains, masking meagre quantity provided! However our main disappointment came from the fatty, chewy and bony pieces of duck served. Quite obviously these were the least desirable pieces, emanating from the neck and similar regions. I had an ok experience coming here for lunch one afternoon. The dim sum dishes are pretty good. Just disappointed with the rice and noodle dishes we ordered (ginger & scallion beef stir fry with rice and mushrooms & vegetables noodles soup) as it looked very different from what’s shown in the menu e.g no carrot in our noodle soup and the tofu look over cooked. The colour of the beef stir fry seems less attractive than in the menu. Despite the taste isn’t bad but the expectation wasn’t met is what makes it a much less satisfying meal. I love the food here and I keep coming back, but there is one issue that happens almost every time. Today I ordered a chicken corn soup as well as my main meal. After waiting 20 minutes, the soup still hadn’t arrived. When I asked a staff member about it, I was told, “The chef is going to make it now.” Really? After 20 minutes? By the time the soup was ready, I had already finished most of my meal. Soup should be served before the main dish, not after it. ordered chicken congee. it took over 20 minutes to reach my table but the staff offered a free drink for the wait!! i didn’t feel like whatever else there was so i ended up getting a second iced lemon tea haha it is a little pricey but if you want a quick chinese food fix in northbridge it ain’t too bad. watch out for rust on the utensils though
