Wow!!!!! Incredible restaurant and experience all round. We visited tonight for a late Valentine's dinner and the food was delicious, perfectly balanced, well portioned and came out efficiently. My partner said it's the best steak he's ever had and I love how the waitress conveyed the chef's recommendations to ensure the meal was enjoyed as intended. I really wanted to not just like, but to LOVE my experience at Hunter & Barrel - but I think it is over rated / over hyped and not quite delivering. Everything just seemed to fall short. The venue looks like a high end place, the menu sounds delicious with great options but I felt all fell flat. I wouldn't recommend based on the price for the quality and the lacklustre food. We ordered the hunters feast (upgraded the rump to wagyu), with sides of Brussels sprouts, Mac and cheese spinach and leafy salad. This was my third time here but this time we were a table of 10 and our waitress was so good once we were seated, she checked back with us often. Drinks were always full. There were a few dietary requirements needed that was booked in advance and the team delivered. The food was well cooked. Seasoned perfect and everyone left with a full belly. Would recommend again. The steak was very good for the price and worth the money. Prawn taco was also delicious, wish they have the prawns alone on the menu as I would totally order it as a side snack.
