A great recommendation from a good friend. Our first visit, accompanied by family, took us to the upper end of Brigittenau. The restaurant is in a low-rise building surrounded by massive municipal housing blocks that somehow appear charming and fitting. There’s dedicated parking available. The waitstaff were competent, friendly, and impressively fast. There’s plenty of space inside, as it was still too cold to sit in the garden. A rustic place with equally rustic food. Large portions that actually taste great. We both had Wiener Schnitzel from the lunch menu. The Cremeschnitte (custard slice)

Kind of a hidden gem, as I myself have been walking past by it for years and only recently got a chance to try the place. The food was fabulous, there is also a good beer selection to go with the Austrian dishes. The staff was very nice, too. The outdoor seating was a pleasure on a hot day.

Modernly transformed local and traditional Austrian 'Gasthaus' in the 20th Viennese district. I would recommend the 'Zwiebelrostbraten' if you'd like to try something other than the traditional 'Schnitzel'. It's amazing. Perfect service, too.
