Restaurant Musil takes some time to reach, but is totally worth the longish journey. It is a real Viennese institution, and deserves a visit for its atmosphere alone. I ate roasted goose (Martinigansl) there twice, and can confirm that this restaurant serves one of the best geese in Vienna. Musil is a very popular with the locals, so a reservation is highly recommended.

I ate here yesterday and was waited on by one Piere. As a non-german speaker, I was having some difficulty ordering, but Piere was super helpful and even recommended a drink that I later learnt was Red Sturm - and what a great recommendation it was! Absolutely most tasty alcohol I’ve had in Vienna so far, and considering the high quality of the beer, that’s saying alot! What else can I say about the food? The pancake strips soup was extremely good, and though the Cordon Bleu Schnitzel’s portion was a little large, I can’t quibble with the quality. Great food, great service, great atmosphere!

The food was ok. It felt a bit like it was prepared under too much time pressure and with no love. Especially compared to other inns. The waiters were mostly nice, one was a bit rude, I guess he thought that he was funny (he was not). Prices where reasonable.

We came here for the yearly gansl. The food was really nice, with the gansl being quite roasted, more on the thin crunchy side than on the wet one. Absolutely well prepared, not standard. Also the salads were very balanced. The personnel was highly Viennese, meaning rude, but in a friendly way. If you like the style, you will enjoy it! 4 stars and not 5 because for 2 gansl with salads and a bottle of good but not exceptional wine 110€ seem really too much.
