Staff in the restaurant were disengaged and never on the floor. I suspect they were out the back chatting and weren’t interested in engaging on the floor. The rooms were mainly clean (dust on surfaces in the bathroom and main room) but the towels were small and threadbare and the mattress in my room (103) had completely collapsed so it was like I was sleeping in an uncomfortable hammock. We called the hotel when driving to Genk, and asked for availability of a room. No problem at all, said the receptionist. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were initially assigned room 210. Upon entering, it became immediately clear that the room had not yet been cleaned, which we reported to reception. We were subsequently reassigned to room 410. Upon arrival, the room was extremely cold. There was no central heating; heating was only possible via a portable electric heater, which is entirely inappropriate for a hotel in this price range. What happened?! We stayed at this hotel in August 2025 and found it to be “ok”. We enjoyed the view and the breakfast was a 4 out of 5. It was odd that the parking was city owned and expensive to park right at the hotel. We stayed again in mid September and my! How things have changed. The room was not clean, the fan in the room was an industrial model that was too loud to use. The only duvet was too small to use and was filthy. We just passed by for lunch because there have nice lake for walking around, my meals are tasty, the young guy service is super nice , we was there after 12:00 therefore very nice quiet, we can see the lake directly from restaurant 🤩
