We’ve visited La Bohème in Ghent so many times, and it remains one of those places we keep coming back to. This welcoming, unpretentious restaurant with its Mediterranean-inspired cuisine is the perfect spot when you’re looking for honest, well-prepared food at fair prices. MUST GO- This place is phenomenal! We had one of the BEST meals I’ve ever had in all my 20+ times in Europe here! The lamb chops, the mussels with feta and the seafood pasta were absolutely incredible!! I will be dreaming of this perfect flavors forever. The staff was extremely attentive – including a blonde girl that served us-especially given that we did not make a reservation so we sat outside, which was actually so lovely looking across the opera building.

Starters were good, we had the clams and prawns, both nice. Mains were both very disappoining, the steak tartar was grey throughout (see photos) and was made with pre minced beef, texture and flavor not as expected. I tried to tell the wait staff I wasn't happy with the tartar and then the chef came and tried to make me come to the kitchen to look at how he makes it, he didn't want to hear any criticism. Paid and left quickly.
