Very intimate restaurant in the center of Mechelen. I went there with my partner for our anniversary and it really didn’t disappoint! The sushi is amazingly prepared in front of you and every piece was very fresh and very flavourful. The staff is really nice and they really put you at your ease talking with you about the food they’re preparing. Just for the owner's rude reply a zero. For a conveyerbelt sushi restaurant, I would give it 3 stars, but overall, my experience is more aligned with a 2.5. It's a pretty small space and they open fairly late in comparison to other restaurants in Mechelen (18.30). If you pay per plate (every colour has a different price) it is grossly overpriced. So they make you think you get a deal when you pay for the all-in version (without drinks, 59 euro per person). The conveyor belt is a clever gimmick and this place is a lovely experience overall. I agree that this is probably the best place for sushi in Mechelen, but this by itself means you need to manage your expectation a little. The fish and other ingredients are fresh, but to be absolutely frank the sushi are localised to the market's taste, meaning there won't be any wasabi in your sushi. Great experience! Special sushi was made on the spot, with some new flavours I hadn’t tried in the past. The owners are super friendly people who love to share stories about Japanese cuisine. Would recommend and will definitely come back here!
