We were in Montreal for F1 and decided to try George's for a smoked meat sandwich - takeout. We were greated with a friendly hello and prompt service. My buddy wanted his order customized for his wife who is gluten free and they were more than will to give him the "open face" with extra pickles ( great garlic taste). He asked for the lean and the meat was still moist and very flavorful. I ordered the Jumbo platter, med fatty, which, in my opion = flavor, Cole slaw and fries. Food. Smoked meat only. Asked for between lean and medium fat. It was very very dry. I was there at about 3:00 ish during the week and non one was in the restaurant. They sliced the meat promptly and I asked for a slice and tasted it, it was completely dry. This was right out of the steamer. I honestly stated it tasted very dry and they didn’t say anything. I really wanted to return the meat as I knew the rest would also be beyond dry. Service. Reasonably decent. There is a bit of a chip on the shoulders of the two fellows who were service as it was not a very welcoming reception at all.

The smoke meat was tasty but not the best I've had. I didn't know that you order at the counter and your food is served on a cafeteria brown tray. The fries are frozen fries. The decor, well there is none to speak of and outdated. For the price they charge, I'll go to their competitor that's almost next door forthe same price. Won't be returning.
