We went to Drift for my birthday dinner. As soon as we walked in we were greeted warmly and sat right away (we had a reservation). They even had a little birthday card or me at the table. Who I believe was the manager came to our table and answered all of my questions (food is a lot fancier here than I’m use to). We ordered appetizers and after we realized 45 minutes had gone by we got the manager to come over, they explained there was delay with the beef tartare. Pleasant modern design. Friendly service. The Blueberry Pancakes were enormous and delicious! Although I'm not a fan of pancakes, these paired with maple syrup won my heart. And the size of the breakfast itself could easily replace lunch. The cappuccino was well-made, with plenty of foam, and served hot. It's a shame the coffee beans themselves weren't as impressive; coffee connoisseurs will be disappointed. I hope to be able to taste some wonderful coffee on my next visit. See you again!

The food at this restaurant is excellent. We had to reserve for 5:45 dinner as the next available option was for 8:45. Service was terribly slow and we ended up finishing dinner at 8:15. What was strange is the restaurant was half full the entire time. Would have preferred a 6:30 reservation as it was clearly available. Food definitely better than Bicycle Thief which we tried on our first night in Halifax.

We had breakfast at Drift. The ambiance and food was top notch. The salmon eggs Benedict completely blew our mind. The flavours were very rich and complex. We also ordered the Monte Cristo breakfast, which is a combined French toast and ham sandwich. The cappuccino also had a very rich flavour and it reminded me of a hot chocolate with extra dark chocolate! This also tastes very good. Everything from the presentation of the food, the ambiance, and the service was top notch.
