We're disappointed in ourselves that we hadn't tried El Cabrón Cantina until now. My wife and I ordered takeout and it was some of the best Mexican food that we've ever had and certainly the best outside of México. The Chicken Tacos (with hard shell tortilla) were absolutely to die for. The crispy yet light and airy tortilla could well have been the star of the show had it not been for the wonderfully braised chicken which was melt in your mouth. Some of the best Mexican food i’ve had in as long as i can remember! we had the chilaquiles rojos as a starter, absolutely delicious! Definitely get the horchata, so delicious and refreshing. We also had tacos, i had chicken and my husband had beef. Everything is made fresh and just so so good! What a fantastic find! I was so impressed with my experience here. The staff was so warm, welcoming and made me feel like a friend… not a customer.. The interior decor is charming, but the food is the real star. I ordered the Quesabirria (mine was without cheese), and it was phenomenal. The shredded meat was seasoned so good and it was so incredibly tender and flavorful. What elevated the dish even further was the accompanying consommé… ughhhh it was, without a doubt, the most flavorful consommé I have ever tasted. Excellent food. I think this is the most authentic Central American flavor I have tried in Hamilton. The cheese in the quesabirrias was delicious, and the sweet plantains had an excellent flavor along with the beans, cheese, and cream. The pan shuco was decent as well. I do not have much more to add — the flavor is impressive and gives you a true Latin sensation in your mouth.
