We had a fantastic dinner at Rustic Kitchen and Bar last night. My wife, who loves a good steak and has been to many steakhouses across the country for work, said it was the best steak that she has ever had! She had the prime Alberta sirloin, with mushrooms and it was delicious with its compote butter on top. She was still talking about it the next day. I had the salmon, with its tasty potatoes salad and garlic butter shrimp. We shared the lobster dip and chips for an appetizer, which was crispy, hot, gooey and tasty. Best place in The Hat to enjoy an incredible meal! The atmosphere is inviting & personal, the staff is friendly & knowledgeable…the food is made with the finest ingredients & expertise! The drink menu had many options to choose from at a very reasonable price-point. We booked our reservation for Valentine’s Day 2026 while the Chef was on a much deserved break…the customer service we received was excellent! In more than 5 years of dining in Alberta this restaurant is one of THE BEST!! I enjoyed the Pork Schnitzel very much!! My dining companion loved the Chicken & Mushroom Spatzel. Our waitress claimed that all the food is made from scratch and it sure tasted like it! So tasty!! Fairly priced and good portions. Beautiful interior. Crystal provided great service and a great locally made beer - Twin City by Medicine Hat Brewing. We stopped in on a whim and were so thankful that we did and can't wait to go back again when we're in town so that we may try other items.
