Man, do I ever love this place! Especially when Larry, son of the 1942 couple who founded this place. I love to say hello, he is a classic charming proprietor! My favorite diner in all of Montreal. Classic impeccable interior, black and white tiles, long lunch counter, cozy window booths. Huge portions of delicious breakfast - brunch food. Lively young customers. It's been more than 40 years since we were here and were soooo happy to see it still is!!!! And the service and FABULOUS FOOD are the main reasons this iconic Montreal eatery has sustained all of us who appreciate truly substantial sustenance. Huge MEAT LOVERS OMLETTE and Saint Viateur bagels stuffed with delicious lox took us back to the 1980's..... Coffee is locally sourced (processed??) and terrific!!! Food was very mid. Only go here if you don’t know how to cook and can’t make a better breakfast than simple eggs, potatoes, a protein and toast/bagel. Everything on my dish was missing flavour. The eggs had no browning on the bottom, no salt or other spices on my potatoes. It’s very rare for me to add hot sauce to things so I can enjoy my food more. I would have been happier if it was more affordable to justify the mediocrity of the plate but my dish was close to $20 and it went over that with tax and tip. I was really surprised with my experience here at beauty’s. I was really excited to visit since it’s a household name in Montreal however the quality of their food and service was not reflective of their reputation. I’m surprised a basically meal was super expensive with nothing special on it. Second my friend got the gravlax sandwich with one piece of salmon and 3 tomato pieces to make the sandwich appear thicker. When I asked our waitress for my eggs over easy and well done yolks she gave me a face and came back with runny yolks. I will say tho the restaurant it self was well decorated with
